It may not be rigged in favour of the house, but 2 or more players could conspire together.
Well if you had a tracker program like Poker Edge (http://www.poker-edge.com/?aid=1837b6c3&bid=6b167976 then you could see the long term profits and losses of every player you run into and you would see that some players do indeed make money from poker. The reason why they do is that players lose more money than the rake on average and someone has to make it because the house is limited to just the rake.

Umm you don’t have to come here to see if people are making a living off online poker. Its fairly obvious that there are hundreds of thousands of people making a living from it. Go to some popular poker forums like and you will see hundreds of online pros.
This question being asked here can’t prove a single thing. Even if you knew how many people came out ahead and how many lost, you could not prove that it was indeed rigged. If it were that easy my friend, we would all know it online poker was rigged or not. But for the record, in order to make a LIVING off of online poker you need to make a lot of money, and chances are a lot of money is going to come from a lot of people. So for every one person that CAN and does make a living off of online poker, there are tons of people that are coming out behind Does this mean it is rigged for those few that make so much money? No, they are talented and of course SOMEBODY has to win. It is not a coincidence that you see plenty of the same people at the world series of poker every near. They are simply good, not rigging a game.
